This is the home of the project to develop the City of Edina's Comprehensive Bicycle Plan. The purpose of this site is to serve as a tool for participation in and development of the Plan.

The final version of the City of Edina Comprehensive Bicycle Transportation Plan is available for download here. This is the version that was sent to print and delivered to the City of Edina on Monday September 24. This version of the Plan was approved (with the recommended changes that are included in this version) by the Bike Edina Task Force (BETF) at its meeting of September 19, 2007.

Comparative study: senior cycling

Comparison of walking and cycling rates across the Netherlands, Germany and the US. Among findings:

  • Almost one half (49%) of all trips made by Dutch seniors 65 or older are made by bicycle.
  • Almost one in five trips (18%) made by German seniors are by bicycle
  • In the US, only about 0.2% of senior trips are by bike
